Quick Search lets a user quickly search through documents, folders, layers and attributes at the same time. The quick search is the search bar displayed in the header. The quick search starts searching after at least three characters are entered into the search bar to help the user search. A dropdown menu is displayed with the type of results (Layers, etc.) and the search results.
If the intended result is displayed, click on the result and the result is displayed on the map and/or any associated windows.
For example: A user clicked on the search result of “Pittsburgh Neighborhoods” and the result was displayed on the map and the layer window was displayed with the result highlighted.
Quick Search searches for the following:
- Document name
- Layer Name
- Folder name (in both Layer and Document libraries)
- Map Features by their ID attribute (this is the first visible attribute column in the layer)
