Line Layer

A Line is a map feature represented by multiple line segments or multiple connected points on the map.

Line tools include:

To create a new Line layer, go to the Folder Actions menu and click on the “Create Layer" option.

To cancel the drawing tool, click on the “Cancel” button.  Click the “Confirm” button to cancel or click the “Cancel” button to go back to the Layers window and map.

Select “Line” from the dropdown field and click on the “Ok” button.  A new layer is created in the Layers window waiting to be named by the user and a drawing tools toolbar is displayed on the map.  After renaming the layer, the new name of the layer is displayed on the toolbar on the left side.

 The toolbar is displayed with the following icons:

To move a point on the layer, click on the Move Point icon and click on a point, then drag the point to a new location.

To remove a point or line segment from the layer, click on the Remove Feature icon and click on the point or line segment the user wants to remove.

To add an anchor point on the layer, click on the Add Anchor Point icon and click within a line segment displayed on the map.  The user will then be able to move the anchor point with the move point tool or attach other lines to the anchor point.

To remove an anchor point on the layer, click on the Remove Anchor Point icon and click on an anchor point within a line segment.  The anchor point will be removed from the line segment.

To draw freehand, click on the Draw Freehand icon and click on the map to start to draw lines or shapes.  Click the map to start a new segment of double click to end the drawing line or shape.

To draw a straight line, click the Draw Straight line icon and click on the map to start a line draw a straight line to the new location.  Click the map to start a new segment of double click to end the line.

To save a layer, click on the Save icon in the toolbar and click “Confirm” button on the toolbar.
