DWG is a drawing file format used by AutoCAD. DWG files can also have map features and attribute definitions.
NOTE: GeoUnderground supports importing some DWG files. For a DWG file to work, it must have the ESRI map attributes setup and/or have a corresponding Projection (.prj) file to define the projection.
To import a DWG file, go to the Folder Actions menu and click on the “File Import" option. The File Import window is displayed with the Available formats, “Add Files” button, “Import” button (disabled) and “Cancel” buttons.
A user can drag and drop the files from their desktop or upload files by clicking on the “Add Files” button. The file will be displayed and the “Import” button will enable.
To cancel the import, click on the “Cancel” button. Click the “Confirm” button to cancel or click the “Cancel” button to go back to the File Import screen.
To import the file click on the “Import” button, the file is processed and if successful displays on the map. The File Import window displays a “Finish” and “New Import” button
To finish importing files, click on the “Finish” button.
To import another file, click on the “New Import” button. The File Import screen is displayed with the Available formats, “Add Files” button, “Import” button (disabled) and “Cancel” buttons.
